Specialist care for skin, hair and nails

Many skin problems look alike but need very different treatment. A correct diagnosis is the first step to clearer, healthier skin, and it saves months of trying products that don't work. At Dermaplast, every patient is seen by Dr. Nousheen Rizwan, a dermatologist with a Diploma in Dermatology from Glasgow and 18 years of experience.

Your treatment plan may combine prescription creams or tablets, in-clinic procedures and a simple daily skincare routine suited to Islamabad's climate and your skin type.

Conditions we treat

Acne and acne scars

From occasional breakouts to severe, cystic or hormonal acne. Treatment focuses on clearing active acne first, then improving marks and scars with peels, microneedling or laser.

Pigmentation and melasma

Melasma, sun spots, freckles and dark patches after acne or injury. Melasma needs careful, long-term management, and we use treatments that are safe for South Asian skin to avoid rebound darkening.

Eczema, psoriasis and dermatitis

Chronic itchy or scaly skin, flare control and long-term plans to keep symptoms settled, for adults and children.

Hair loss

Pattern hair loss, hair fall after illness or pregnancy, alopecia areata and scalp conditions such as dandruff. We look for causes like iron deficiency or thyroid problems, and arrange PRP or hair transplant when it is the right option.

Infections, warts and skin growths

Fungal infections, warts, skin tags, moles and other growths, including assessment of moles that have changed.

Nail and other conditions

Nail infections and changes, urticaria (hives), excessive sweating, vitiligo and rashes that haven't settled with simple treatment.

What happens at your appointment

  1. History. We ask about your symptoms, what you have tried, your routine and any medicines.
  2. Examination. Dr. Nousheen examines the skin, hair or nails and may use a dermatoscope for close inspection.
  3. Diagnosis and plan. You leave with a clear diagnosis, a written plan and realistic timelines.
  4. Follow-up. Most conditions improve over weeks, so we review progress and adjust treatment.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a dermatologist consultation cost?

The consultation fee is Rs. 2,000. If you need a procedure, the cost is explained before anything is done.

How long does acne treatment take to work?

Most acne treatments take 6 to 12 weeks to show clear improvement, because skin renews slowly. Sticking with the plan and attending follow-up is the most important part of getting results.

Can melasma be cured permanently?

Melasma can be lightened a great deal, but it tends to return with sun exposure, heat and hormonal changes. Treatment combines sun protection, prescription creams and gentle procedures, followed by maintenance.

Do you see children?

Yes. Children are seen for eczema, warts, rashes, birthmarks and other skin conditions. Please mention the child's age when you book.

Should I stop my skincare products before the appointment?

Keep using what you normally use, but bring the products or photos of their labels so the doctor can see what you have tried. Avoid applying makeup to the area being checked on the day.
